Throughout their careers Dale and Jan knew that, once they left the military behind, they wanted a return to the rural setting in which they had grown up.  They also knew they wanted some sort of farm.  After a long search, they found the property that would become their dream.  They built a farmhouse and then started building the farm. 

Taking a cue from Jan's love of fibercraft, they decided the farm would focus on fiber animals and in 2013 they bought their first alpaca.  Soon after they decided they wanted to have their own source of wool for blending with the alpaca fiber for making more elastic yarns.  A good deal of research led them to the conclusion that they would invest in a Finnsheep ram and four Finnsheep ewes.
